| Since 2001, the Cultural Development Trust has supported a number of projects with funding from a wide network of donors. One of the things that we focus on is to transform South Africa's home grown arts and cultural talents into world class work. To turn our artists into professionals, we use arts and cultural forms of education and training as a tool.
Through set up developmental programs, we are able to nurture new talents especially in disadvantaged communities. Our arts and cultural programs are a used as a vehicle to grow the potential and the abilities of our members especially youth. We work with our members to a stage where they are ready to perform overseas and through the help of our donor and sponsors, we have been able to send quite a considerable number of artists overseas. From our side, this as a great contribution to our country's economy as we see it as creating jobs for our artists. With the projects that we have at the Cultural Development Trust, we have been able to engage the youth in arts and culture, educate through arts as well as creating developmental opportunities for artists to grow further. | Our mission at the Cultural Development Trust is to improve the quality of administration and management in the arts and culture sector by providing training to individuals professionally involved in arts management and cultural administration. Our training programmes are aimed at arts administrators and managers who need to develop or improve their skills. We always try in a number of ways to improve the knowledge and skills of arts administrators, where necessary, by equipping them with the necessary skills and giving them the necessary information they require to effectively manage their organizations.
